At MSCL House recovery is not a one-size-fits-all journey and experience. We believe in a holistic approach to recovery, a recovery process that treats the entire man: mind, body, and soul. We are constantly looking for new approaches beyond conventional treatment to compliment the daily work our residents put forth into their recovery. We are excited to announce announce our newest resource for residents, The Breath of Hope Project. Thanks to the generosity of the Arlene and Michael Rosen Foundation and in partnership with Hyperbarics of Sun Valley’s nonprofit arm Hyberbaric Health & Wellness Foundation, our residents will now be able to participate in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a treatment method that is a natural healing process of the body through 100% oxygen inhalation. HBOT involves taking in pure oxygen under increased and controlled atmospheric pressure. Increased levels of oxygen supply to the brain can improve the brain’s ability to function. This is particularly significant in addiction recovery because hyperbaric oxygen therapy helps in neuroplasticity. This is the the brain’s ability to recover from damage.
Our residents will attend hour long sessions daily with Hyperbarics of Sun Valley and work with a therapist to report their progress. MSCL House has already had one resident complete a cycle of treatment and he reports back feeling better and clearer than ever. We are very excited to start offering this to all residents who would like to participate. With therapies like HBOT, we are able to provide our residents with the holistic and restorative services that allow for not only personal growth but also physical and mental health.
So excited for this study and grateful to all those who are participating. Looking forward to the results.
