Hat’s Off to Sonya and John

In addition to managing and running the daily operations at MSCL House for these past two years, Sonya and John have also continued to pursue their degrees in so-cial work and counseling. We are proud to announce they both completed their courses this June, setting a foundation for the next step in their continued education. Sonya received her certification as a Substance Use Disorder Associate through the Idaho Board of Alcohol Drug Counselors. A curriculum that included 2-years of ad-diction studies coursework and 400 hours of training and experience as a counselor for completion. MSCL House Board of Directors and staff would like to thank everyone for braving the snowy evening to attend our first fundraiser movie screening of "Trial by Fire" at The Argyros Performing Arts Center.  Special thanks to producers Allyn Stewart and Kipp Nelson from Flashlight Films, Allyn Stewart and Judge Mark Ingram for an engaging Q&A, the venue host The Argyros Performing Arts Center, MSCL House manager John Inman, the men at MSCL House and our amazing volunteers for helping with the event.

“Trial by Fire” a Fundraising Screening to benefit MSCL House.

We are excited to have you join us for our first fundraiser, a one-time only screening of the 2019 film, TRIAL BY FIRE, produced by local MSCL House friends Allyn Stewart and Kipp Nelson on Thursday, December 12th. The film stars Jack O'Connell and Laura Dern, and is based on a true story about a death row inmate and a mother from Houston who struggles mightily for his freedom.  This is the only public showing of the film in the Wood River Valley, so recruit your friends and enjoy a night out at The Argyros before the holiday craziness and lend support for MSCL House.   There will be a Q&A following the screening with Flashlight Films Producer [...]
