Are you 70 1/2 years old or older and have an IRA?

You might be eligible for a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). This means you can donate directly from your IRA to a qualified charity, up to $100,000 per year.

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a way for individuals who are 70½ or older to make a donation directly from their IRA to a qualified charity, like our non-profit organization. With a QCD, you can transfer up to $100,000 per year directly from your IRA, and the amount donated is excluded from your taxable income. This means that not only are you supporting a cause you care about, but you can also reduce your tax liability, as the distribution counts toward your required minimum distributions without increasing your taxable income.

By choosing a QCD, you streamline your charitable giving because the funds go directly from your IRA custodian to the charity, ensuring that IRS guidelines are met. It’s an efficient way to manage your finances and maximize your philanthropic impact at the same time. For personalized advice on how a QCD might fit into your overall financial strategy. Please consult with your investment advisor, tax advisor or broker.
