Spur starts multi-year philanthropic campaign
Inaugural event will feature film screening on Sept. 10
The Spur Community Foundation, an organization dedicated to inspiring effective philanthropy in the area, is starting a multi-year effort to “celebrate and promote the profound impact of generosity in the Wood River Valley.”
The nonprofit’s “It’s In Our Nature” campaign will highlight the role of local nonprofits in the community’s vitality and seek to inspire more people to “give back with their time, talents, or treasure,” a news release from Spur Executive Director Sally Gillespie stated.
The campaign’s inaugural event will feature a screening of the film “Uncharitable” and a panel discussion on Sept. 10 at The Argyros in Ketchum, co-presented by the Sun Valley Museum of Art and Spur with numerous other organizations as co-hosts.
This documentary explores assumptions about charitable giving and nonprofits and asks people to consider new ways to have impact. The film and panel discussion are sure to stimulate conversation!
