Substance-Free Living Environment

MSCL’s two sober living houses are located in residential areas in the heart of Hailey. Our homes foster feelings of safety and ownership of space, allowing for the emotional healing necessary for lasting recovery.

Our Commitment to Excellence in Recovery Support

We are dedicated to providing the highest caliber of service to those in recovery.

This includes:

Offering a substance-free, safe, comfortable home setting where living spaces are shared, collaboration is emphasized, new sober relationships are made, and isolating behaviors are discouraged.

Delivering strong, caring supervision by staff who are empathetic and available to listen, mediate, support, and assist residents in addressing anything that threatens their sobriety or focus on recovery.

Establishing an effective, well-structured, well-run environment where individuals in early recovery can relearn how to operate in everyday life.

Establishing program standards, policies, procedures, and house rules that foster accountability, responsibility, volunteerism, and stronger relationships with the community.

Offering programs that influence social determinants of health directly impacting substance use disorders (SUDs) and the recovery process.

Developing strategic partnerships with individuals, businesses, community leaders, faith-based organizations, healthcare providers, and government agencies to arrange services, volunteer and job opportunities, and overall resident support.

Transitional Living Residence (TLR)

In 2024, MSCL took an important step to address the challenges faced by men in recovery transitioning to independent living. Many men face housing barriers due to high rent costs or disqualification from housing opportunities because of felony drug records.

Recognizing these hurdles, we launched a fundraising initiative to establish transitional housing units. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, MSCL purchased a two-bedroom condominium, now home to two graduates of our sober living program.

The Transitional Living Residence (TLR) provides residents with greater independence while maintaining a supportive environment. With reduced supervision, they gain confidence, enhance essential life skills, and smoothly transition into the broader community.

Key benefits of the TLR include:

Community contributions enabled MSCL to purchase a two-bedroom condominium for graduates of the sober living program.

Residents focus on establishing routines, achieving personal milestones, adopting healthy habits, addressing triggers, and expanding their support networks.

Residents maintain access to MSCL’s recovery support services, ensuring they have the tools and encouragement to thrive.

By transitioning graduates into the TLR, beds are made available in our sober living houses for new participants.

Building on the success of this initiative, MSCL aims to expand transitional housing opportunities to further support recovery and stability.
